The essential of line array technology is converting spherical wave plane into columnar  plane. Enewave’s engineers do the very extreme calculation and then design a special axe type phase plug technology then insert it in front of compression driver. The spherical wave created from compression driver and pass through the surface of axe type phase plug. All they will arrive to the front narrow slot at the same time. The same phase and frequency spectrum will create new columnar wave plane. Finally, the sound pressure will be folding constantly without any interference.

Different from the spherical wave, the SPL of columnar wave will be decreased 3dB on each doubling the distance (spherical wave is 6dB) .. So line array system is more suitable for far field radiation.

All new designed axe type phase plug can control coverage angel accurately. HLA offers 22.5° horizontal coverage angel. Users will be able to calculate the quantity base on required coverage angle. Thus, it will avoid unnecessary reflection very efficiently.

HLA offers an asymmetrical horn: up of axis is 20° and down of axis is 40°. Therefore, it will unnecessary to tile the cabinet during installation then get most suitable coverage ange.
